New Flickr Photo Viewer (Alpha)
Thu, 25 Mar '10 01:08

A long time coming, I've completely revamped the Flickr photo viewer you see on the Hello Mister homepage.

It's nearly feature complete and tested in Firefox, Safari, and Chrome on Max OS X. There seem to be some minor discrepancies in Firefox for Windows and I'm certain it doesn't yet work in Microsoft Internet Explorer (that's for the beta).

Thought I'd give you a chance to check it out. It features

  • Full sized Flickr photos, resized to fit within your current browser viewport
  • Flickr video support
  • New peek-and-slide scheme. After an image is displayed, move your mouse to the left and right sides of the image to peek at the next image. Click on the image to slide over to it.

It makes use of a new Mekin.js JavaScript library, and builds on prototype.js and scriptaculous.

It's currently running in debug. Hit '`' for the debug console.
